The Swiss Geographical Association (ASG)
146 ASG Logo Rund digitalThe Swiss Geographical Association (ASG) is the umbrella organisation for geographers in Switzerland. Ordinary members of the ASG are the specialist geographical societies, the regional societies and the geographical University institutes in Switzerland.
The statutory objectives of the ASG include:
- To bring together the discipline's various fields: research, teaching, practice
- To promote dialog between the different regions and languages of Switzerland
- To participate in current socio-political debates
  1. In its current mandate, the ASG pursues the following specific objectives:
  2. To encourage international exchange
  3. To strengthen cooperation between the Swiss language regions
  4. To promote mid-level faculty and ethnic diversity at universities
  5. To foster concrete measures in the context of climate change
     
Instruments
  • - GeoAgenda, the ASG magazine, is published four times a year and open access
  • - Thematic groups in the fields of human geography, physical geography, school geography and applied geography
  • - Support of young researchers to participate in congresses abroad
  • - Archive of historical artefacts and geographical documents
